An exhibition at the Cité de la BD

Every year, the Cité de la BD offers you different exhibitions. Currently you can discover:

  • François Bourgeon and the crossing of worlds, until May 5, 2024. In the space of a little less than half a century, François Bourgeon has built a masterful body of work, making him one of the undisputed masters of comics. Immerse yourself in the captivating universe of this outstanding artist, discover visual treasures and feel the indelible imprint of his talent.
  • 77 years of Tintin's diary, until May 12, 2024. In 2023, this legendary newspaper celebrates its 77th anniversary. For more than forty years, until 1988, Tintin's diary was that of "all young people, from 7 to 77 years old". The International City of Comics and Images is therefore putting it in the spotlight!

A discovery of the painted walls of the heart of the city

From Place des Halles to the Town Hall via Place Louvel, a stroll through the alleys of old Angoulême will allow you to discover:
> the “Daughter of the Remparts” by Max Cabannes, (a selfie is a must!!)
> the couple of lovers Julie and Bernard Sambre from “Mémoire du XXè ciel” by Yslaire

A visit to the “Fichtre DIantre” boutique

Fichtre Diantre it is, for the visible part of his project, a boutique exhibition space with beautiful images inside, posters, postcards (screen-printed, risographed, digitized, printed in small editions) and pretty objects (made by artists from 'Angouleme).

A reading break at the comic book museum bookstore

The comic strip museum bookstore d'Angoulême is one of the largest bookstores dedicated to the ninth art: according to the Livres Hebdo ranking, it is one of the 300 largest bookstores in France, and is one of the top 10 bookstores specializing in comics. It occupies a space of 270m2 in old cellars on the banks of the Charente. Rich in more than 20 references and more than 000 new releases per year, its collection represents all the richness of comics.
