Faithful to its original DNA, the Festival will look, more than ever, at comics as a form of literature in its own right linked to the realities of the world, with the stated ambition of offering a representation of its diversity opening onto as many invitations to read.
March & April 2024
L'Émoi Photographique is a festival taking place in Angoulême and its large agglomeration in Charente. He wants to show through the exhibition a broad panorama of photographic practice, for this reason:
– The photographers come from a call for applications.
– At least one of the exhibited works will have been produced using an old process in order to introduce the public to alternative practices and what they allow.
– Each year, the organizers invite up to 5 photographers of which at least one is local and another African, because for the eponymous association organizing the event, on the one hand “The Festival offers a showcase for African photographers, an opening and an exchange, and on the other hand, Africa is the unifying link of the members of the association”.

An unmissable musical event for more than 45 years, the Musiques Métisses festival has showcased artists on the world stage and continues to be on the lookout for new or established talent by exploring the planet in search of new nuggets. For three days, the first weekend of June, the world arrives in Angoulême: three days of diversity, spectacle, celebration and mixing on the banks of the Charente! Concerts, literary encounters, shows for young audiences, film screenings, exhibitions and events of all kinds, the Musiques Métisses festival offers all the ingredients for a unique experience. A journey beyond borders and genres that will certainly lead to cultivating one's curiosity!
From August 27 to September 1, 2024
Taking advantage of the last rays of sunshine in August, the FFA celebrates French-speaking cinema. Whether in theaters or in public squares, films and their spectators invade the city of Valois for this occasion. Thanks to the will and the passion of their creators Marie-France Brière and Dominique Besnehard, the festival defends a popular and subtle cinema which excites professionals as well as amateurs, neophytes and cinephiles alike.
12 French and foreign breweries will be present, concerts and activities will be offered throughout the day to have fun with friends or family and food trucks will be present to provide sustenance. The La Déché brewery will also be proudly represented with a 10-spout bar, its Spunky non-alcoholic drinks and a takeaway shop to find their beers and exclusive merch.
