Angoulême has different labels that ensure recognition in terms of quality of service….

Michelin Green Guide**

“Worth a detour” ...
The old town of Angoulême can be discovered by making a complete tour of its enclosure. You will find that the north is criss-crossed by narrow streets while the south is cut by spacious lanes lined with aristocratic facades. When you stroll there, direct your steps towards the St-Pierre cathedral to admire its Poitou facade or towards the Angoulême museum, in the department of African and Oceanic arts.

Tourism & Disability label

The Tourism and Handicap label, created by the ministry in charge of French tourism, guarantees an efficient and adapted reception for people with disabilities. It allows you to choose your holidays in France and your leisure activities in complete freedom thanks to the commitment of many tourism professionals who display the Tourism and Handicap label (Tourist Offices, tourist accommodation, tourist sites, catering establishments, leisure sites) .

Country of Art and History

Created in 1985, the “City or Country of Art and History” label is awarded by the Minister of Culture, after consultation with the National Council of Towns and Countries of Art and History, to municipalities or groups of municipalities that engage in a policy of raising awareness among residents, visitors and young audiences to the quality of the heritage, the architecture and the living environment. This label replaces the designation "City of Art" which disappeared in 2005. To date, the national network has 190 Cities and Countries of Art and History: 119 Cities of Art and History and 71 Countries of art and history.

Designated UNESCO Creative City

Le UNESCO Creative Cities Network (RVCU) was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and between cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor in sustainable urban development. The 246 cities that currently form this network work together towards a common goal: to place creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plan at the local level and to cooperate actively at the international level.

bike welcome label

Accueil Vélo is a national brand that guarantees a welcome, services and specific equipment adapted to the needs of cycling tourists along cycle routes in France. The Accueil Vélo brand helps to reassure them, especially foreign customers, because it is the promise of a quality welcome. It contributes to raising France to the 1st rank in the world of world destinations for bicycle tourism by 2030.

The small green logo in the shape of a cyclist makes it possible to quickly identify labeled structures (tourist accommodation, bicycle rental and repair companies, tourist offices, tourist sites and restaurants) and invites cyclists to turn to these establishments located less than 5km. The tourist office of the Pays d'Angoulême is labeled Accueil vélo.
