bike flow: AN INSPIRING UNIVERSE

At the gateway to the South-West, the Flow Vélo is a chic and bucolic cycle route, 400 km long, which links Sarlat-la-Canéda in Dordogne to the island of Aix in Charente-Maritime.

After a foray into the Regional Natural Park of Périgord Limousin, she joined Angoulême before flirting with the Charente river in a setting of vines. Along the water, Cognac, Saintes, Rochefort are all “Art and History” stops… before embarking for the Ile d’Aix, pearl of the estuary.

Inhale, breathe, pedal… on the Flow Vélo®. Have a good trip !

Flow Vélo® in Angoulême

When you arrive in Angoulême, take the opportunity to make a foray into the world of comic strips and the 9th Art with the Cité Internationale de la BD et de l’Image and the journey of painted walls.

The Scandibérique: more than 1700 km of cycle routes in France

The Scandibérique is the French part of EuroVelo 3, a route linking Trondheim (Norway) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain). It covers more than 1700 km and crosses 20 departments, 4 regions, and major cities such as Paris and Bordeaux.

This journey offers the freedom to experience pleasures as simple as they are essential, to make multiple urban or heritage discoveries, to fulfill a quest for well-being and reconnection...

la scandibérique

Scandibérique also accompanies The Flow Vélo towards “the bubbles” of Angoulême. In the heart of the Bandiat valley, the “Coulée d'Oc” greenway reveals itself to the rhythm of its countryside and small villages steeped in Romanesque art. Shortly after Chazelles and its Quéroy caves, the route branches off towards Angoulême along the Touvre. It is particularly good here to take the time to approach the astonishing sources of this river, fed by underground water. Moreover, Angoulême will be for comic book lovers much more than a stopover, a real pilgrimage to the heart of the 9th art!

Then, after having stocked up on bubbles by following the unmissable route of painted walls, you will have to follow the thread of La Scandibérique. It peacefully crosses Angoulême via the Coulée Verte, a real river corridor along which small ports and locks pass, Cognac and Pineau hillsides. Châteauneuf-sur-Charente requires a stop. The end of this first stage by bike between Charente and Bordeaux continues through the heart of the vineyards to Barbezieux-St-Hilaire.
