Welcome to Angoulême
Angoulême does everything possible to ensure that clubs and associations of collector vehicle lovers enjoy its many attractions as well as those of Charente. Since 1939, Angoulême has hosted its famous rampart circuit. Beyond these 3 days of celebration, the ambition is to provide the best welcome all year round and make the Capital of Comic Strips, the Capital of vintage vehicles roaming the roads of our beautiful region.
Accommodations
Vintage and classic car enthusiasts want the object of their passion to be offered accommodation conditions almost as good as those offered to crews. Also, the Pays d'Angoulême tourist office has put together a guide which specifically lists accommodation with garage or private parking covered or not.
There are also concierge services which are likely to offer tailor-made services to make life easier for the group during their stay in Angoulême.

Depending on the day you wish to organize your visit, the number of vehicles involved or specific expectations, the City of Angoulême has identified several car parks in the heart of the city which allow:
- Parking and displaying classic vehicles in a rewarding and secure location,
- Proximity to shops and centers of interest
Les Halles car park
It is “the spot” which ticks many boxes of centrality, enhancement of the city and vehicles and ease of surveillance; gatherings are regularly organized there.
In the event of unavailability, another solution will be identified according to needs.
Right in the city center, direct access to shops, in the heart of the historic center located near the route of the ramparts circuit as well as the tourist office and WC of Les Halles.

The circuit of the ramparts
An unmissable event for collector car enthusiasts, the Circuit International des Remparts transforms Angoulême into a gigantic rolling museum where everything that makes fans of historic cars, racing or not, dream comes together for three days. The Circuit International des Remparts takes place in the heart of the city of Angoulême and its ramparts, 1279 meters unchanged since its first edition on July 2, 1939.
Live this unique experience by taking the same route by car, on foot or by bike as these classic car enthusiasts and take advantage of the different stages to admire the posters of this historic race.
The rallies
Every year, as part of the circuit of the ramparts, rallies allow you to travel along roads around Angoulême and thus travel through the cognac vineyards, the Charente valley or even the meadows and forests of Angoumois.
As examples, below are itineraries that have been set up during recent editions. It is up to everyone to make the necessary arrangements in terms of security, catering, possible authorizations, reservations for visits, etc.
Tourist information
The website of the Angoulême tourist office lists all the information in terms of visits, activities, accommodation, entertainment, specialties, etc. specific to Angoulême and its region.
However, to facilitate the stay or its preparation, the Tourist Office has set up a travel companion which lists the main information specific to the theme of vintage vehicles, in particular:
