What could be more unusual than an audio cassette for a child? When a lonely clown makes it her partner, this object becomes a pretext for play and invites to defuse arguments as well as to repair wounds through appeasement and laughter.
How do we cope with what makes us suffer, with our feelings of loneliness? How do we repair damaged relationships and bonds? Essential questions posed with finesse in this creation to be discovered from the age of 7, far from the stereotypes of the genre. After the incredible SCOOOOOTCH! and its sticky material, it is another object that served as a creative trigger for director Amélie Poirier and actress-clown Marjorie Efther: an audio cassette!
Totally vintage for today's children, it carries messages that will make our clown react. Alone and locked in her room with only her familiar objects for company, she then engages in a dialogue with the ghostly voices, undertaking, through laughter and imagination, to repair conflicting relationships.
Through this solo on the edge of emotion—the hallmark of clowning—the highly talented Marjorie Efther invites us to keep alive the little light of joy that is in each of us. An intelligent reflection on our relationships with others, where we learn, from childhood, to assert ourselves without crushing our neighbor.
