Le Trésor de la Cathédrale

The Treasure is revealed in three rooms.
This space which reveals to the public part of the important collection of religious objects of the diocesan deposit, aims to explain the different aspects of a treasure.

Colored blown glass, the favorite material of the artist who composes
most of his creations with magical and baroque accents are at the heart of the Angoumoisin project. The stained glass windows in blue and gold tones diffuse a light
color that contributes to the dreamlike atmosphere of the place.
Each room of the Treasure corresponds to a theme: the Lapidary, the Commitment, the
Wonderful.

The design of the scenography of the Treasury was entrusted by the State – Ministry of Culture and Communication to visual artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, as part of a public order on February 10, 2010.
Saint-Pierre d'Angoulême Cathedral is a building protected as a Historic Monument (classified on the 1840 list) belonging to the State.
