12th century church, frequented by Calvin.
The history of the commune was marked by Calvin's stay in 1533. Hunted on all sides, fleeing under an assumed name, he found asylum with the priest of Claix, Louis du Tillet, whose tutor he had been and who had embraced his new doctrine.
The 12th century church, frequented by Calvin, still exists. Dedicated to Saint Christopher, its Romanesque architecture remains sober.
The Saint-Christophe church was classified as a historic monument on October 20, 1920.
