Mur peint « Avec le Temps »

It is the first painted wall created in Angoulême in 1998 and the only work directly inspired by the city's industrial papermaking past. “With time” revisits a famous advertising poster “I only smoke the Nile”

Before becoming a city of images and comics, Angoulême was a city of paper. On the banks of the Charente, in particular, there were numerous paper mills, including that of the Nile. This painted wall in homage to this industrial past is the work of François Schuiten, a Belgian, author, among others, of “Obscure Cities” with Benoit Peeters.
Schuiten received the grand prize of the Angoulême International Comic Strip Festival in 2002 and was president of the following edition of the festival (2003). With Peeters, he also received the prize for best album in 1985 for “Les Cités Obscures: La Fever d'Urbicande”.
Created in 1998 by the association of muralists “Cité Création”.
