Moulin de la Courade

A few minutes from Angoulême, the Moulin de la Courade (1641) preserves on a unique site all the traces of the paper-making industrial life of Angoumois.

The architecture of the buildings is exemplary, the workers' farmhouses, the imposing castle and the drying racks sit side by side... The large Boëme canal carries the industrious water.
On the other side of the castle, there is the English-style park, the cedar amputated by the storm, there is "the little madness, the magnolias and the redwoods which line the skies" (Charente Libre 20/09/ 2008).
Guided tour by appointment only, 1h30, outside of “Heritage Days” and “Rendez-vous au jardin”.
