The Pays d'Angoulême is proud to count on its rugby club the SAXV Charente Rugby which plays in Pro D2!
Every home game is a real party where a human tide of Violets arrives proudly chanting " Here, Here is Chanzy "!

The SAXV Charente Rugby, quite a story

Le SAXV Charente Rugby was born from the merger of Sporting Club Angoulême (SCA) and Rugby Club de Soyaux (RCS) in 2010.
From the first season in federal 3 (2010 / 2011), the results are there. The club will become Pro by moving to Pro D2 in 2016 until 2021. After a very mixed season, the club is downgraded to National. To the delight of supporters, the rise in Pro D2 will not be long in coming. From the end of the 2021-2022 season, the SAXV once again reaches the next level.

The 2023-2024 calendar

A little new with the World Cup, 2 matches will take place during the week in Chanzy: Wednesday 6 or Thursday 7 September against Dax, Tuesday 26 or Wednesday 27 September against Montauban.

At each home game, thousands of rugby fans meet at the stadium. These matches are also an opportunity to welcome supporters of opposing teams. They take the opportunity to visit Angoulême, discover the comic book heritage or even the know-how of cognac.

Pratical information

Where to park?
The number of parking lots around the stadium is limited. The city of Angoulême offers the possibility of parking in the BROCHE barracks, access to this parking lot via Boulevard Chanzy.

Stadium accessibility
Entry to the stadium is via the main entrance, rue du Stade on presentation of the ticket or subscription and after a security check.
The stadium opens its doors 2 hours before kick-off and the stands open 1 hour before.

Where to buy game tickets?
To buy your tickets, go to the official website of the SAXV or directly at the club shop located at the entrance to the Chanzy stadium.
Do not panic if the stands are full, you can watch the match in “weigh-in” (standing around the field, as close as possible to the action).
