On the road to Sers, towards Rougnac, a small path takes you back twenty thousand years.
Here, hunter-gatherers left much more than traces of their passage: they carved real or imaginary animals into the rock, fascinating witnesses of their world.
Discovered at the beginning of the 20th century, this site is home to the oldest carved wall frieze in the world. Ibex, horses, bison... the figures reveal themselves to the visitor like a stone book opening onto prehistory.
Even today, the Roc de Sers remains a unique place, bathed in sunshine and silence, which invites contemplation and wonder. A true journey through time, to be experienced freely and free of charge, every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m.
